Celebrate National Playday on Wednesday 2nd August in Torkington Park, Hazel Grove

On Wednesday 2nd August 2017 from 11.00am – 4.00pm Action for Sick Children will be hosting the National Playday 30th Anniversary event in Torkington Park.
Playday is a celebration of children’s right to play and the importance of play in their learning and development. Action for Sick Children will also be celebrating 10 years of their Dental Playbox project.
There will be plenty of entertainment for all the family including, Arts & Crafts, a Bouncy Castle, Sand Play, a Straw Maze and Cardboard City and live entertainment.
Entry to the park and most of the activities are free or low cost
•Play : Sandy beach, Straw Mountain, soft play, dressing up, photo booth, teepee making, kitchen band stand.
•Activities : Pizza making, biscuit decorating, face painting, fire service, parachute games, messy play, woodland school, storytelling, writers workshop and pony rides
•Sporting Activities: Cycles for all, cheerleading, beat the goalie, life leisure and tug of war.
•Games : Tin can alley, board games, hula hoops, traditional sports day race, fun at the Grove.
•Entertainment : Music, punch & Judy, magic show, pixie cheers, Vernon bear, Wishy & the tooth fairy, Grover, The Bubble Man, Author Simon Adepetun
•Refreshments : will be available to buy on the day or bring a picnic!
•Onsite facilities include : First Aid, accessible toilets and baby changing, hot food, artisan craft traders, chillout/quiet tent, Tesco Extra will have a free fruit stand & Nestle promoting water for healthy hydration.
Visitors will include the Lord Mayor, MP Mary Robinson and players from Stockport County.
