The race will be a 1.1 mile circuit involving 3 laps and will include hard technical components including steep climbs, staircase jumps and tight turns.
On race Sunday there’ll be multiple races for a range of abilities working up to the final elite race which will have a cash prize.
The festival’s inspiring and animated event village will be at St Peter’s Square. There’ll be a wide variety of activities for people of all ages and abilities during the 2 day festival:
- quirky smoothie bike; pedal away to create yummy smoothies
- Rollapalooza countdown clock; pedal fast against the infamous clock
- spin taster sessions
- opportunities to try lots of different bikes, including balance bikes and adapted bikes for those with limited ability
- workshops on how to give your bike its very own MOT
- whizz around on an electric bike
- winners of the dress your bike competition
- opportunities to meet Stockport’s own former Olympic cyclists, and some of the Paralympians who’ll be participating in this summer’s paralympics in Tokyo
- plus you can watch the racing cyclists pass straight through the village
