Remembrance Sunday
By Editor Girl on Oct 26, 2015
This year’s Remembrance Day Parade and Service is on Sunday 8th November. The parade will be led as usual by the Vernon Building Society Poynton Brass Band. It will leave the Civic Centre Car Park alongside Waitrose at 9.35am with the Service and Act of Remembrance at St George’s Church, beginning at 10am. Wreaths and poppies will placed on and around the war memorial immediately following the church service. This year Sir Nicholas Winterton DL, one of the Deputy Lord Lieutenants of Cheshire will be attending.
As usual a really good turn out is expected, and everyone is very welcome to go along to what is always a very dignified, moving and special occasion for the community.
The British Legion is kindly offering refreshments at its Club House on George’s Road West after the Service.
