What is a Street Champion?
A Street Champion is a facilitator for conversations between people who need support which might include dog walking, shopping, collecting prescriptions, or just a call to see how someone is and people who can help. A street champion will co-ordinate a local group of volunteers to support but they are not expected to cover the whole area themselves. When you sign up to be a Street Champion you will receive and email with a map clearly showing your area. Some leaflets that you can print out to build your group and some guidance notes which includes: dos & dont’s, money handling and general advice on staying safe.
If you live on a street or within the areas where house numbers are outlined above and feel you can help please contact James.Hails@poyntontowncouncil.gov.uk
If you are already co-ordinating a street group or street WhatsApp, and haven’t already done so please register this with our Operations Manager phil.cunningham@poyntontowncouncil.
