Outstanding Ofsted Report for Lostock Hall

By Helen Marston

7th March 2010

A Poynton primary school is top of the class after achieving an outstanding Ofsted report.

Under a revised and tightened Ofsted inspection regime, the Ofsted Inspector judged Lostock Hall Primary School as an “outstanding school”.   The report found that “excellent leadership and management ensure that teaching and learning are of high quality, that pupils enjoy a rich and stimulating curriculum, develop extremely well as responsible and concerned young citizens and that there is first-class care, guidance and support provided for pupils, staff and parents.”

Lostock Hall’s Head teacher, Mr Graham Hamilton, said “The report confirms what we knew to be true, that Lostock Hall is an outstanding school.   I couldn’t be more delighted with our report.   It is a case of congratulations all round - to our wonderful children, staff, governors and parents!   Everyone should feel immensely proud. We have an exceptional team at Lostock and we all look forward to building on this excellent success in the future.”

Chair of Governors, Mr Simon Barber added "This is an excellent achievement and shows the depth of leadership there is at the school, since for the last two terms Mr Hamilton has been on secondment doing an excellent job at a school in Macclesfield and our Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Elizabeth Dockry, has been Acting Head teacher here at Lostock Hall”.
