Following the approval of the application for a new Waitrose store in poynton by the local athority and Councillors, Waitrose are pleased to announce plans to open the newly built store in Autumn 2010.
Waitrose are working closely with the local authoristy and the developer of the store to address some of the outstanding usses that were raised during the planning process at the Planning committee.
The development will have a significant impact on the future of Poynton as a vibrant village community. Waitrose state that ...'it represents a signigicant investment and confidence in the future of poynton'.... Waitrose believes that the new food store will not only help the local economy by bringing shoppers outside the village to Poynton, but save Poyntonians on travel expenses eaten up by travelling to do their weekly shop.
Work has already began on clearing the Waitrose site on Park Lane, and plans to begin building are to be launched in the Spring/Summer time with an aim to open the store in Autumn 2010.
