Earlier this month, Vernon Primary School held a ‘Working’ garden party to begin the transformation of their Eco Garden. After being awarded £1000 to turn the garden space into an engaging and exciting learning environment, the party was an opportunity to begin preparing the area for redevelopment. Children, parents and even grandparents turned up to the school, armed with gardening equipment and were ready for hard work.

As the sun shone on the garden, everyone was busy digging up flags, moving plants and turning over soil for the very spacious vegetable patches. The children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to explore the habitats they came across.
Thank you to all of the families who volunteered their time and effort. Miss Williams and Miss Burgess are currently ordering shrubs and plants for the garden and plan to hold another ‘Working party’ soon.
