Poynton's Gateway Project has become established as one of Cheshire's foremost youth projects.
Primarily for students in Years 9 and 10, Gateway offers an unrivalled opportunity to learn First Aid, Fire prevention and fighting, find out about law and order, develop team working, communication and other skills whilst having a great deal of fun and eating some great, home-cooked food.
Gateway is run by Connexions Youth Services with a team of local volunteers and supported by the local churches, Poynton First Responders and Cheshire Fire and Police Services.
Gateway leads to achievment of part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze level and many young people have gone on to complete the full Award, others going on to Silver.
