The local initiative to support Poynton Businesses has now come to an end. Over the past 6 weeks, Poynton Town Council has joined forces with Cheshire East Council to support the local shops and stores through their "Think Local, Shop Local" initiative.
The initiative has offered local business free advertising in an effort to support them during these financially difficult times. The las few issues of the Poynton Post have celebrated this initiative with a two page middle spread advertising local businesses in the village. The range of services offered by our local traders is vast, and there is no reason for people not to take full advantage of the fanatastic shops that are on their doorstep.
Many of you will have noticed that there are currently very fewer empty shop windows in Poynton, and the initiative aims to continue to support the thriving village by asking locals to use the services offered by their village shops.
Cheshire East Council's Recession Recovery Group is planning to roll out more initiatives similar to this one, continuing the Council's support of its local community.
By continuing to give support to our local community, Poynton residents ensure the future success of a thriving village. With new shops and old favourites mixed together in a wonderful village setting, there is nothing that Poynton can't offer its residents
