Mrs Simpson Retires

By Mr P R Taylor
Worth Primary School
15th November 2010

Teaching Assistant, Mrs Simpson is to retire this half term after serving the children of Worth Primary School for 21 years. Mrs Simpson is a well loved and supportive member of staff but she has decided retire and enjoy the company of her family and friends a little more.  Mrs Simpson started at Worth as a Midday Assistant and, after attending college, she was employed as a Teaching Assistant in Reception. She has also served as a Governor for many years and has been the main First Aider at the school.  Mr Taylor, Headteacher, said, ‘Maureen will be so hard to replace as she is very special.’   Mr Taylor added,   ‘We have been lucky in finding a replacement for Maureen as one of our part time Teaching Assistants, Miss Brown, applied for the post after an internal advertisement. Miss Brown was offered the post and has agreed to become the full time Teaching Assistant in Reception.’ Mrs Simpson said, ‘ I have been very lucky at Worth, Mr Taylor saw something in me when I started as a Midday Assistant and he asked the school to help me qualify as a Teaching Assistant. I will miss the school as I love the children and the staff very much. I have always been happy at the school but now is the right time to retire.’ At her retirement assembly Mrs Simpson thanked the staff, the parents and the school for their kind gifts and the memories she will hold for ever.
