East Cheshire Hospice Raised £150,000 with the late Christmas Tree Collection
By Editor Girl on Apr 30, 2021
The East Cheshire Christmas Tree Collection 2021 was finally able to take place from Monday 19th April to Thursday 22nd April, when a small group of volunteers including organisers Richard Raymond and Pete Chapman completed the collection picking up over 1000 Christmas trees (or what was left of them!)
Thanks to your generosity of supporters the 2021 collection raised a staggering £150,000
When the difficult decision to postpone the collection was made in January, they were uncertain whether a Christmas Tree collection would be possible or if anyone would even need a Christmas tree collection in the Spring/Summer!
The response from the community has been humbling. Many of our supporters gifted their donation to us and disposed of their own tree. This meant that the collection was still able to cover the costs of nearly 3 weeks worth of wrap around palliative care for patients and their loved ones.
There were some refund requests but there was also an influx of additional donations from supporters who wanted to be sure that any of the losses incurred by postponing the collection were covered.
East Cheshire wish to thank the Christmas Tree Collection and all those who participate, whether donating towards it or volunteering to make it happen. They are incredibly grateful for this event and the much needed funds it provides to the Hospice every year.
