The museum will be open on the Friday and Saturday with engines running, cafe open and access to the local history area (with giant model of Poynton c1900); however on the Sunday and Monday we have so much happening that you will have to come early to see it all. Museum open 10 – 5 each day of that weekend.
INCLUDING – Largest Steam Engine in Cheshire running Bank Holiday Sun/Mon (30/31 Aug)
There are few people who are not moved and enthralled by the sight and sound of a giant steam engine in motion. The power and majesty of the spinning flywheel ignites a passion deep inside and makes you wonder about the work and history of these industrial giants.
The Stott mill engine at the museum(with a 10 foot flywheel) has been lovingly restored by our volunteers and will run on live steam for the last time this year, over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
Although the smaller steam engines at the museum run every month during the season, the Stott engine will only be run on specified dates.
There is no additional charge to see the steam engine, normal museum entry applies. The Craft Centre at the museum will also be in operation. Everyone is invited along – for a great day out.
Museum is open 10:00 17:00 each day over that weekend.
